Not every child has the same start in life. Some dream big but are held back by limitations they can’t control. The Abhay Bhutada Foundation understands this and has taken steady steps to make education reachable for those who need it most. Started by Abhay Bhutada, the Foundation focuses on giving young learners a chance to grow, whether through financial help or hands-on learning resources.
Support Where It’s Needed Most
Abhay Bhutada Foundation is clear in its purpose, students from difficult backgrounds shouldn’t be left behind. It doesn’t matter whether a student is scoring top marks or simply needs financial help to stay in school; the Foundation believes both deserve attention.
This commitment was seen clearly in its work with the Maheshwari Vidya Pracharak Mandal (MVPM). Through this collaboration, the Foundation launched a special scholarship drive for students from the Maheshwari community staying in MVPM hostels. It was a focused effort to help those who either had the marks or needed the support to continue learning.
In total, twenty-five students were selected. Ten received scholarships based on their academic scores, and fifteen others were chosen based on financial need. Each student was granted ₹1 lakh, giving them breathing room to focus on studies instead of worrying about money.
A Thoughtful Way to Select the Right Students
Rather than choosing students through a random or rushed process, the Foundation worked with MVPM to build a proper system. A committee was formed. Students applied, were reviewed, and later interviewed. This ensured that each name on the final list earned that spot fairly.
By taking the time to do things right, the Foundation also gave students the confidence to trust the system. It wasn’t just about awarding money, it was about recognizing potential and offering dignity through the process.
Taking Science Beyond the Textbook
Another way the Foundation has impacted students is through its classroom
innovation efforts. Partnering with “LearnByDoing,” the Foundation delivered STEM kits to over 2000 students across eight schools in rural Pune.
These weren’t just gift boxes. They were a new way for children to understand science and math. Items like microscopes and anatomy models let children see, feel, and experiment, bringing subjects to life in ways their textbooks couldn’t.
In areas like Thakarwadi, Malegaon, and Dhanore, students and teachers noticed the difference. Lessons that once felt hard now make sense. Children showed more interest, asked better questions, and stayed engaged in class.
Learning Through Experience, Not Just Reading
The Foundation’s approach to learning is rooted in the idea that students understand better when they can interact with their subject. This focus on practical exposure helps children explore topics at their own pace while building lasting interest.
For families in rural or lower-income areas, this is especially important. Many parents, after seeing their children come home excited about what they learned, are more willing to keep them in school longer. It’s a chain reaction of positive outcomes, all starting with a small shift in how lessons are delivered.
